I weep for the Israelis. They have been utterly betrayed and isolated by the “historic” Iranian nuclear pact. As a people and as a nation, they feel devastated because history is repeating itself: modern Iran (ancient Persia) vows once again to destroy them, and leaders have capitulated while the Jews mourn as Queen Esther of old, “we have been sold to be destroyed, killed and annihilated.” (Esther 7:4)

Using graphic apocalyptic language, Israeli leaders of broad political persuasions condemned the pact announced by the United States and other world powers 14 July 2015, calling it a “stunning historic mistake” and a “dark day in history.”

[Full text of the Iran nuclear deal]

The deal frees Iran to sponsor global terror while assembling the information and materials to build a nuclear weapon. Obama, Britain’s David Cameron and other leaders are taking a big gamble with the Iranians who have a known track record of double-dealing and mendacity.

“Iran is going to receive a sure path to nuclear weapons,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in Jerusalem, noting that many preventative restrictions will be lifted.

The world is now a “much more dangerous place,” Netanyahu said, and Israel is not bound by the international nuclear agreement with Iran– “the Jewish nation reserves the right to defend itself.”

With the lifting of economic sanctions, Netanyahu warned, “Iran will get a jackpot– a cash bonanza of hundreds of billions of dollars, which will enable it to continue to pursue its aggression and terror.”

In dismay, Education Minister Naftali Bennett commented, “Today a terrorist nuclear superpower is born, and it will go down as one of the darkest days in world history.”

Intercessors, continue to pray for Israel’s military intelligence during these days “between the straits,” the days leading up to the 9th of Av on the Hebrew calendar (July 25-26 this year)–the ominous day when so many tragedies befell the Jewish people, including the destruction of both holy temples.

Please sign this petition as well, since the release of Pastor Saeed Abedini and other American Christians wrongly imprisoned for their faith in Iran were not included in the deal. We must urge Congress to reject this deal! http://beheardproject.com/saeed#sign

It would have been an answer to prayers of Jews and Bible-believing Christians alike, if the President of the United States and other leaders had stood upright and decried the brazen genocidal public taunting of American and Israel while the dark deal was being forged.

If only our Western leaders had demanded, “The deal cannot proceed while Iran publicly calls for the death of America and the destruction of the Jews! We cannot negotiate as long as you hold our pastors in your dark prisons!”

If only they had said in no uncertain terms, “We decry Iran’s genocidal incitement.” But the Ayatollah Khameini’s public calls for the destruction of the U.S. and Israel did not cancels the talks.  It seems a deal was to be forged at any price.

Cancelling the deal and decrying Iran’s calls for genocide would have been not only righteous,  but the ONLY sane position to have taken.

We must acknowledge, as my friend Jonathan Feldstein wrote, that it is an appeasement of Biblical proportions.

Father Gabriel Naddaf, the Nazareth activist Orthodox priest tweeted, “In our Eastern culture, it is a grave mistake to capitulate. In Eastern eyes, desperation vis-a-vis ‪#‎IranTalks‬ is submission and fatal.”

God himself will therefore defend Israel and God himself will receive all the glory.

Citing Romans 13: 1, I heard a preacher say that God rebuked him for speaking against Obama all the time. God said to the preacher, “I gave the American people what they deserve, but haven’t I continued to take care of you?” “Yes, Lord,” the preacher acquiesced. Then God added, “Obama doesn’t know Me, but he works for Me.”
