As Islamic terrorism increases, pray for a chain reaction of revulsion against atrocities and for greater opportunities to share Jesus, not merely as a prophet, but as Deliverer and Lord.

Millions of Muslims are shocked by what is being done in the name of their faith, and many are questioning the very basis of their traditional identity and heritage. This shaking is an unprecedented opportunity for Believers to share the truth of Jesus, not merely as a prophet, but as Redeemer and Lord.

At the same time, Israel and the Jewish people sense a growing isolation as anti-Semitism is increasingly emboldened. Tragically, anti-Semitic attitudes are also growing within many of the traditional churches.

In light of the ever-escalating violence in the Middle East, pray these glorious verses of prophetic scope and spiritual warfare:

So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.

(Isaiah 59: 19-20)

These words of hope show us the whole scope of history and how the Lord will use even the most evil enemies to bring about ultimately the redemption of Israel in the region (verse 20).

We human beings have an arch enemy. The Bible describes this fallen angel by many different names and titles, including the devil, Satan and the god of this world.

The enemy’s evil kingdom at times makes tremendous assaults and invasions, coming in like a flood against nations, kingdoms and individuals.

In our personal lives and in the lives of entire nations and regions, evil can suddenly overwhelm us like a tsunami.

But the Good News that all intercessors must proclaim is that the Spirit of the Lord is always stronger than the enemy.

Scholars have asked, how shall we read this verse? Where in English should we put a comma?

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

or

When the enemy shall come in, like a flood the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

Because the original Hebrew has no punctuation marks, the verse can also be rendered that the Lord will come on the scene like a raging flood to wipe out the burning fire and hatred of his enemies.  For example, The Message renders Isaiah 59: 19 like this:

In the west they’ll fear the name of God,
in the east they’ll fear the glory of God,
For he’ll arrive like a river in flood stage,
whipped to a torrent by the wind of God.

Hallelu-Yah!

Pray for flash floods of the Holy Spirit against the powers of darkness in the region!

Flash floods are dangerous because of their sudden nature and fast moving water.

Our God is always the God of the suddenlies!

The Lord is wiser and will raise up a standard against evil, which has limits.

A generation ago, the Nazis invaded this world like a flood, yet they were vanquished as God raised up a standard against them.

The Spirit of the Lord has an intellect and a plan to subjugate every strategem of the enemy.

So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west. . . .

Pray the holy, referential fear of the LORD among leaders in the west.

. . . . and his glory from the rising of the sun.

Pray that those in the East will see his glory flooding the region in current events as the Spirit of the Lord intervenes and invades supernaturally.

In the Book of Revelation there is a promise of help in the time of a hellish flood, even in the desert of the Middle East.

And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away at the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. (Revelation 12: 15-16)

That great promise of escape from a demonic flash flood is an event in the future for Israel.

Even the earth itself in the providence of God can become our ally to contend with the forces of darkness that pursue us night and day.

The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard!

Let us petition the Almighty that the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard over our nations and to protect Israel.

The enemy is compared to a flood because floods are rapid, violent and destructive, sweeping in nature.

The Lord’s mercies, on the other hand, can also be compared to a holy flood sweeping away his enemies!

Who is the standard-bearer who must come on the scene? According to Isaiah 59, Hallelu-Yah, it is “The Spirit of the Lord.”

The reference to a standard, a flag or banner, in this passage, amounts to spiritual warfare.  The original Hebrew word is not standard but a word that means to cause the enemy to flee. The King James Bible translators euphemistically used the phrase “lift up a standard” because such a sight as the Lord’s terrible banner on the scene puts fear and dread in the hearts of the enemy and causes foes to flee.

A standard is a flag of victory. It is also a rallying point.

Fresh volunteers for the present prayer battle must be enlisted. Are you willing to intercede for flash floods of the Holy Spirit? We are looking for fresh recruits to pray with us 1 to 6 April 2015 during our 18th Passover Convocation in Israel.

Flash floods over the Middle East!

Flash floods over our nations desperately in need of God’s grace!

Flash floods of refreshing over our individual souls!

Let us rally behind our Lord, the Lord of heaven’s armies, in prayer asking him to lift up his awesome standard of victory over vicious powers of darkness.

The LORD of Hosts will break and baffle wicked, blood-thirsty persecutors as his royal standard is uplifted so that the King of glory may come into the region!

Lord, flood the Middle East with your glory until the whole earth is covered with YOUR knowledge as the waters cover the earth!
