Dear friends,
New Year Feast of Trumpets greetings of Hebrew year 5786.
Prophetic events are literally speeding.
During this season of repentance and judgment—the Days of Awe—on the eve of the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah) the whole world potentially heard a message of repentance and forgiveness in the televised memorial service of Charlie Kirk when even his widow forgave his murderer.
In Jewish terms we are passing through the 10 Days of Awe, God’s court of judgment, leading up to Yom Kippur. Those who are sleeping must be awakened as it were by the sound of a great trumpet blast.
A clarion call is going forth throughout the earth for all of us to lift our voices like the shofar and say, Wake up! The Lord is coming! Yom Adonai, the Day of the Lord is near! The Church Age will not continue ad infinitum. The Church Age is dating to a close.
Israel’s redemption is at hand (Romans 11: 26).
Recently the Temple Institute in Jerusalem announced on Facebook that the shofar has been sounded on the Temple Mount, a moment that carries with it immense prophetic meaning. The shofar was blown, of course, in the Six Day War of June 1967 when the Temple Mount was captured by Jewish soldiers but prayer and shofar blowing subsequently were squelched in the illusive placating attempts at peace. But no more. . .
‘And it shall come to pass on that day, that a great shofar shall be sounded, and those lost in the land of Assyria and those exiled in the land of Egypt shall come and they shall prostrate themselves before HaShem on the holy mount in Jerusalem.’ (Isaiah 27:13) Jews are now doing that. They are actually daring to prostrate themselves on the Temple Mount before the Almighty as demonstrated in this Facebook Temple Institute photo:

Furthermore, according to Ariel Ministries of Dr. Arnold Fructenbaum, “This Monday evening [22 September] begins Yom T’ruah, the Feast of Trumpets. Many know this biblical holy day as Rosh Hashanah, the “head of the year,” but Scripture points beyond the civil new year to a greater fulfillment “when the fullness of the Gentiles has come in” (Romans 11:25).
On that day, “the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. The dead in Messiah will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).
What a glorious hope we have! We look forward to the day we meet our Savior in the air.”
Will the Rapure be THIS Yom T’ruah (the day of the shout)? It’s a two-day festival due to weather conditions and sighting the moon. So only the Lord knows. But this we do know: all the spring festivals of the Lord have been fulfilled in the life, atonement, death, burial, resurrection, ascension of the Lord.
EVENTUALLY he must fulfill all of the fall festivals as well: Trumpets, Yom Kippur and Tabernacles. Jesus/Yeshua fulfilled the spring festivals {Passover, Firstfruits, Shavuot/Pentecost} so in God’s perfect timing, he will also fulfill the remaining festivals and all of their significant meanings. Ps89:15 Happy are the people who know the joyful shout [sound of the shofar]; LORD, they walk in the light from your face.
The day of blowing the shofar according to the Book of Numbers in the Hebrew Bible and Leviticus Chapter 23 defines the holiday as a memorial of blowing of shofars (zikron teruah). The only thing the Bible says is that shofar and trumpets are to be blown. But the sages explain that the alarming call of the shofar is a call to repentance and also an announcement of judgment. It’s a double edged sword, either repentance or on the other hand judgment.
According to teaching on the ICEJ’s Global Prayer Gathering, Maimonides, The Rambam, wrote on this subject although the blowing of shofars on this holiday is commanded without any reason, there is also a hint to awaken those who are sleeping. In fact, in the Book of Ephesians Paul the rabbi admonishes those who are sleeping to arise from dead and Christ will give you light.
Is it any coincidence that on the opening of the 10 Days of Awe leading up to Yom Kippur to decide the fate of people and nations, tomorrow the General Assembly of the UN plans to recognize the non-existent state of Palestine meant as an insult to Israel and ultimately an affront to God and his plans. Psalm 2 expresses God’s anger as does Joel 3:2 which says he will put the nations on trial for partitioning his land.
This all is very solemn. We should be praying for our nations. It’s a stern warning, a call for repentance against antisemitism and Jew hatred.
So this New Year is a year of new beginnings and also nearing the End of all things of the Church Age.
Let us raise our voices like a shofar to preach the Gospel—repent the kingdom of God is at hand!
Maranatha, as Psalm 89:15 proclaims in an Amplified version, “Happy are the people who know the joyful shout [sound of the shofar]; LORD, they walk in the light from your face.”
