Is the current level of Jew-hatred in the world equivalent to the atmosphere that produced the World War 2 Holocaust?
I pray for the souls of misguided persons who spread Internet lies and incredibly barbaric blood libels against Jews on social media. Today’s generation appears to have learned nothing from the Holocaust.
Sounding like an echo of the Nazi Final Solution, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said this week the “only solution for the crisis in Gaza is the destruction of Israel.” After Israelis lucidly explain their national security case over and over again, nobody seems to be listening, and instead Israel’s narrative is twisted to make the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to be the worst villains possible. Now, unless God intervenes, in their right to defend themselves, Israel will be accused of civilian massacres, even though the Gaza civilians are reaping the whirlwind by electing Hamas terrorists as their leaders.
Hamas cries for the annihilation of Israel and throwing all Israelis into the sea. But at the same time, the terrorist regime doesn’t treat its own people much better. Hamas oppresses and robs the entire population, treats women as inferior objects and persecutes Christians. It doesn’t build up society but spends its enclave empire on terror weaponry and infrastructure bent on “holy” war.
Because of Hamas’s rocket attacks from Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman have compared Israel’s predicament to Germany’s Blitz in World War 2 . They made the Blitz remarks while meeting with Britain’s new Foreign Secretary, Philip Hammond, who is presently touring the Mideast.
“I think you, as a representative of the UK, of Britain, have a special understanding, at least a historical understanding, of what Israel is undergoing,” Netanyahu said. “Israel is undergoing a similar bombardment now. There’s only been one other instance where a democracy has been rocketed and pelleted with these projectiles of death, and that’s Britain during World War Two.”
Following on that line of reasoning, many pundits are arguing against a ceasefire, such as an article today by the Gatestone Institute: “Even in its weakest moments, would Britain have risked a cease-fire with Nazi Germany during World War II — knowing that Hitler habitually broke his promises?”
All week long, I’ve been hearing in my spirit the words of Exodus 32: 26, “Who is on the Lord’s side?” It seems an invisible line has been drawn between those who call evil good and good evil. In today’s Jerusalem Post, a letter to U.S. President Barack Obama on the situation in the Middle East says that time is running out for freedom in the Middle East.
“Countries and entire regions are falling into the hands of brain-washed, hate-filled extremists, who slaughter anyone who doesn’t think the same way they think or agree with all their religious beliefs. Look at what’s happening in Syria, Iraq, in the Sinai Desert and many other places.
“You know full well, Mr. President, that in its war against Hamas, Israel embodies the forces of light, and Hamas the forces of darkness.
“A veritable Gunfight at the OK Corral, where the good guy takes on the bad guy. . . .” The full letter can be read here:
In a week of much disturbing news, with the destruction of the Christian community in Mosul, Iraq, there’s also great news concerning the desperately persecuted Sudanese Christian, Meriam Ibrahim. She and her American family have escaped to the free world. Meriam was sentenced to public lashings followed by death for apostasy by Judge Abbas Mohammed Al-Khalifa and was forced to give birth to her baby while shackled in a filthy prison. But what a welcome sight: because of international pressure, Meriam with babe in arms descend those airplane stairs into the air of freedom! Mark Steyn wrote in his column today, “Given what is happening to Christians across the Muslim world. . . it’s incumbent upon free nations to raise hell about it. . . . {But}a barbarian regime seized an American’s family and jailed them – and throughout their imprisonment no one in the United States Government did anything and neither the President nor his Secretary of State said a word. The British and Canadians helped, and the Italians sent a government plane and the deputy foreign minister. The Pope had time for the family, but not President Fundraiser.”
On the war front, a true hero is Golani Commander Col. Rasan Alian, one of the highest ranking Druze in the Israel Defense Forces, who was injured by shrapnel in Gaza. Rather than return home to recover, Col. Alian left the hospital to go back to the front lines in Gaza, to defend the Jewish state. The loyalty of the Hebrew-speaking Druze is a gift to Israel.
Intercessors, pray for the nation of Iran to come to the Light, Iranians are being evangelized 24/7 through satellite TV and Internet programs. Pray for the eyes of the mullahs to be opened to the truth of the Gospel. How appropriate are the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 10: 2, “For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.”
For Israel, continue to pray Psalm 91, Psalm 83 and especially today Judges Chapter 5.
