Jerusalem Channel presenter Christine Darg looks at the Hebraic birth of Jesus and offers many nuggets of truth not usually mentioned in messages about the Lord’s birth. One of the greatest reasons for the season is the opportunity to share Bible prophecies uniquely fulfilled at the saviour’s birth!
You use a verse out of scripture that is not about the green tree commonly called the Christmas Tree and easily forget what YHWH God told Jeremiah to write down and tell the people of their error. People like to do what other people do, like Israel has done on many occasions which brought the displeasure of God down upon them, all because it’s like all those “feel good” foods; it appeals to our creature nature instead of our spiritual nature.
Jeremiah 10:1-4
1. Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Very insightful. Thank you Christine for this accurate Biblical account of Christmas, and especially the “lesson of the Christmas tree” for a Muslim couple; very helpful indeed.
