Israel Honors Jerusalem Channel Presenter

Christine Darg, presenter of The Jerusalem Channel, received this year’s lifetime achievement award for tourism and contributions to Israel by Israel’s Knesset Christian Allies Caucus (KCAC) and the World Jewish Congress at the KCAC’s 12th annual Night to Honor Christian Allies.

The award was granted for “steadfast commitment to bring tourism to the State of Israel and for endless contribution to the Jewish State” said Minister of Tourism Yariv Levin and Member of Knesset (MK) Robert Ilatov, KCAC chairman.

Also receiving the annual Christian Ally lifetime achievement award last night for his sincere friendship and support for the State of Israel was Republican South Carolina Representative Alan Clemmons. He drafted the first bill prohibiting boycotting, divesting from, and sanctioning Israel. The event was attended by nine Knesset members.

“Many Christians, many eschatologists, only pray for Israel’s destiny in the future, but God has raised up a generation of believers to pray for Israel to fulfil her destiny now– that Israel should become a holy nation–a holy nation of priests, a light to the nations, God’s treasured possession in the earth,” Christine Darg said in her remarks last night at the award ceremony at Jerusalem’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Yair Mazur, Ami Travel guide who has worked with Christine’s Exploits Ministry for decades, said “together we have lived to see the day of transition, when Jews and Christians work together and build bridges together.”

In fact, Christine Darg has been building bridges with both Jews and Arabs for decades. She has been active with the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) since its founding in 1980. In 2017, Christine received the annual Jerusalem Merit Peace and Reconciliation Award from Canon Andrew White, “the Vicar of Baghdad.” (Past recipients have included Shimon Peres and the Archbishop of Canterbury.)

Both Christine and her husband Peter Darg have aided the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus as well as the Jerusalem Summit to stage convocations with Christian Allies in Israel and in the nations. She is the author of a number of books including The Wounded Lover, Speak to the Mountain and Signs and Wonders in the Muslim World.

“The Church has a divine mandate to pray that God will fulfil Israel’s calling and destiny. Already Israel is a beacon of democracy and stability.  Israel is a shining light of hope for both her neighbourhood and the world,” Christine told The Jerusalem Post.  “We know many Jews and Arabs who are ministers of reconciliation, who have empathy for one another.”

This is wonderful! They have recognised your steadfast and endless commitment – of course first to Hashem, but your support for all sectors of Israeli society is surely unusual in its breadth and longevity. Can we hear/see the whole of your speech? It’s tantalising just to read a sentence on this most exciting and delicate of issues – His present blessing poured out on the relationship between Christians and Jews, and its future fulfilment.
