He is not the Messiah nor is he the Antichrist. He has been raised up by God as a strongman to help to restrain evil and globalism prior to the Rapture of the Church.

Daniel 2:21: “And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.” [This verse is part of Daniel’s interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, emphasizing God’s sovereignty over human affairs, including the rise and fall of leaders.]

2 Thessalonians 2:6-12: “And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.” [This passage is part of Paul’s warning about the coming of the “man of sin” or “lawless one” , i.e. the Antichrist, before the Rapture and the Second Coming, discussing how there’s a current restraint on this evil until the appointed time when it will be removed.]

The Apostle Paul taught that prior to the Rapture of the Church, the Holy Spirit will still be working in the world to restrain evil. According to the above Thessalonians passage, the Antichrist cannot be revealed until the restraining hand of God upon evil is removed. And when the Church of true believers is removed through the Rapture event, then the presence of salt and light in the earth will be removed and all Hell can break loose during the Great Tribulation period. But in the meantime, God is granting the nations an extended period of grace so that more souls can be saved until the fulness of the Gentiles. (Luke 21:24; Romans 11: 25)

I’ve been saddened by the number of Christians who have stated on social media their dismay at the re-election of Trump because they believe he is the Man of Lawlessness, the Antichrist. Some Orthodox Jews have hailed him as a type of Messiah. Others have complained that he is rich or he uses blue language from time to time, or he is disqualified by his sexual misadventures in the past, (for which he can be forgiven). Jesus advised a rich young ruler to go and sell everything and follow Him as a test of loyalty— God or riches— but the Lord allows some people to accumulate wealth for various purposes. (Deuteronomy 8: 18) If Trump did not have wealth and resources, there is no way he could have defended himself against the expensive lawfare that has been waged relentlessly against his conservative policies.

I’m very grateful to Texas pastor-lawyer Dr. Andy Woods who in his weekly prophecy update expressed the same view as mine—that God, in his mercy, is using the strong personality of President Trump to restrain evil and to reverse many of the out-of-control policies of the previous U.S. Administrations.

In his first five days back in power Trump’s multitude of Executive Orders have reversed policies on borders and globalism (globalism is necessary for the rise of the Antichrist). He has done away with DEI and flying any flag on government buildings but the American flag. He has brought common sense to the gender debate. He issued an executive order to restore freedom of speech and prevent government censorship, aiming to counteract overreach by the federal government in content moderation. He designated cartels and migrant gangs like MS-13 and Tren de Aragua as foreign terrorist organizations and gave an order that pro-Hamas, pro-Hezbollah visa holders who have spread mayhem and antisemitism will be deported. He issued a number of other important orders to defend Israel. His orders to withdraw from international agreements—the Paris Climate Accord and the World Health Organization (WHO)—protect citizens from the loss of our sovereignty over our health and other issues. His order recognizing only two biological sexes, male and female, will end federal funding for transgender-related services. He pardoned those languishing in prison for praying at abortion clinics (see above photo).

And what about his controversial sweeping pardon for around 1,500 individuals (with some commutations) involved in the January 6, 2021, Capitol protest, fulfilling a campaign promise and reversing previous legal actions against them? These patriots who believe that the 2020 election was stolen have not received a fair trial, they have served time and, in fact, they were waved into the Capitol by willing police, yet some of them, as of this writing, are still being held by the Deep State despite the presidential pardon.

Trump is a pro-life president. Biden put the beautiful pro-life mother (photo above) in jail; Trump pardoned her.  Trump signed executive orders reinstating the policy ensuring that no federal funds are used for abortions, effectively reversing policies established during the Biden administration. This policy, known as the ‘global gag rule,’ prohibits U.S. funding to foreign NGOs that provide abortion services or advocate for them. Trump also addressed the March for Life, vowing to continue supporting pro-life initiatives, including the protection of families and the promotion of adoption. He issued an Executive Order to free people from prison who had prayed outside of abortion clinics.

Dr. Woods said something very sobering in his weekly update — he would not want to be in the shoes of the former Planned Parenthood president who died of brain cancer on the day of Trump’s Inauguration, and now she must answer to God for her part in the multitude of murders of innocent babies. Cecile Richards, 67, passed away on January 20, 2025, and while Dr. Woods’ tone was not being judgmental in his commentary, nevertheless he saw the date of her death during Trump’s Inauguration as a sign and a warning from the Almighty. Previously last year Joe Biden awarded Cecile Richards the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of her work with Planned Parenthood and her advocacy for abortion.

Let Americans not idolize Trump but neither should Christians dismiss his genuine conservative efforts.

And for those who still criticize the President for seemingly not putting his hand upon the Bibles during the Inaugural ceremony, keep in mind that the oath was rushed by Chief Justice Roberts before First Lady Melania and family had sufficient time to surround Trump. Also don’t forget that Trump himself has been selling Bibles for patriots, and he dared to uphold a Bible at St. John’s Church during riots in his first term resulting in a fallout with Gen. Milley and endless scorn from Leftists.
